What Makes a Performer?

Yellow Robot [1]
I tried out the Samuel French script on a couple of the robots around the office, and it certainly made a difference.

That official-traditional format seemed to make them into performers, just by its presence.

We need to figure out how the auditions should be structured.

Are we going to assume that all the performers need some kind of separate audio capability?

Are they speaking with a text-to-speech algorithm?

Are there one or more PCs augmenting their capabilities?

Guitar Robot [2]

All still to be determined.

So auditions might be more about visual casting or choreography.

Still, having robots who can talk might be a great asset … it could be a clincher if the robot seems talented and appropriate otherwise.

Of course, we also still need to figure out other roles involved. Does each robot have a handler, like a puppet?

Perhaps live actors would be interested in coaching the robots in some way?

Do we need a costume designer? What about a makeup artist? Choreographer? Speech coach?

Still to be determined.
