Alpha Actors for Isadora
I think due to the way the Isadora programing environment has grown over the years with the addition of OpenGL acceleration the Alpha channel is not effected by the Keying actors in Isadora, instead the actors have the compositing built in. But if you are using the 3d capabilities of Isadora or multiple Layers of video in the GL enabled Projector actors then you need to turn that key information into an alpha channel for the video.
Above you will fine a link to three actors that I have used to do this conversion. They do the job, though I would expect a free frame or native Isadora actor could do the job better and faster. The biggest problem with these is the synchronization of the video stream and the alpha stream. I have found that for me there is a 1 frame lag for each video processing actor that I put the video through so The Chroma and Luma actors need a 2 frame delay, and the threshold a 1 frame delay. But this is still not perfect and can still cause some out of sync issues. In other words “your mileage may vary”.
please feel free to use these and let me know how it goes, and if there are any optimizations or further documentation necessary.
