2,000sq ft mixed use office and studio space shared with the company Learning Worlds.
3/4 of this space has a 1 1/4 inch pipe grid.
Grid height is 12 1/2 feet.
Approximately half of the space is outfitted with desks that cannot be moved, the rest is an open multi-purpose area.
Storage area for equipment is available when using the studio.
Space is available to resident artists outside the regular office hours of 8am-6:30pm Mon - Fri
Space must be scheduled in advance.
Artists can install screens sets or equipment in the studio space for the duration of their scheduled time as long as it does not restrict access to the office desk areas
Artists scheduled in the studio space have priority access to the equipment library mentioned below.
There is an additional 500sq foot conference room equipped with a computer and projector, suitable for meetings of 10 people. The conference spaces are available to resident artists primarily (though not exclusively) outside of Learning Worlds office hours.
Also available is a video editing station Mac Pro tower with DV/DVCam/HDV deck, HDV camera, and NTSC reference monitor; and a small "sound both" and audio editing station G5 tower w/M-Box. Final Cut, After Effects and Pro tools and other software available. You should provide your own hard drive to use the video or audio editing stations. Resident artists can use these primarily (though not exclusively) outside Learning Worlds office hours.
Equipment Inventory as of July 15, 2008
The studio space has a minimal sound system with a 14 input Mackie mixer, tape deck, and CD player, and a few (wired) microphones, amp and speakers.
There is a small number of theatrical lighting instruments (4x par56, 4x par36) and 8 DMX controlled dimmers channels. (with a computer software control interface, no lighting board)
(1) 20 foot x 20 foot green screen video backdrop
(2) flat black velour drapes 30 foot x12 foot are available.
(1) 9x12 dual view fast-fold projection screen
(2) 7x7.5 dual view fast-foldscreens, and one 6x9 gray RP fast-fold screens are available.
(fast-fold screens are a lightweight box aluminum frame onto which a projection screen snaps, they have legs and can be easily hung as they are very light, "dualview" is a white screen material which works as a rear and front projection surface.)
There are other small rolling screens of unusual dimensions in the space.
(4) 2000 lumen XGA projectors will be made available in the rehearsal space, this includes 2 projectors which can be fitted with a DMX moving head mirror allowing them to be use with the MediaBeam. (4 additional projectors can be made available by special advanced request)
2 or more media PC's are available in the space with osprey100 video capture cards. (Other computer equipment can be made available by special request)
The media PC’s are provided with specialized video effects software, such as the MediaBeam cueing system and Isadora, and various unique input devices such as Midi keyboards, midi control surfaces, and VR Gloves are available for experimentation.

Residents are welcome to request additional equipment or software. DPI and Learning Worlds staff will consider the cost and usefulness of the equipment for artist’s use and make as much available to the residents as possible.

Technical advice and training (CUT on) is available from the professional designers, filmmakers, and programmers working for Learning Worlds. (CUT THIS WHOLE SENTENCE) Learning Worlds/DPI are set up in an open studio environment were employees are encouraged to participate in various artistic projects.
